Phone call to the Los Angeles chamber of commerce
In order to get more info on industrial history of Hollywood I decided to call the Los Angeles chamber of commerce and the lady I spoke to gave me little information about what Hollywood was before it became Hollywood. She told me that back in the days In 1853, one adobe hut stood in Nopalera (Nopal area), named for the Mexican Nopal cactus indigenous to the area. In 1870, an agricultural community flourished in the area with thriving crops of many common and exotic varieties. The area was known to these residents as the Cahuenga Valley, after the pass in the Santa Monica Mountains immediately to the north. Soon thereafter, in 1990 the land turned into what is know today to be Hollywood.
Air Quality
This is a photograph of the air quality in the Hollywood area. What we can perceive from the diagram is that our air quality as of right now is not excellent but it is moderate. The major pollutant that affects our air quality are ozone pollutants.

Superfund sites
This is a photograph of the superfund sites in the area of Hollywood. As you can see from the graph we live in a community infested with superfund. According to the labels at the bottom dark red means its the highest percentage of superfund sites. and most of the graph is of that same color.
Water Testing Results
From the table below you can see the which chemicals were present in the 3 different kinds of water we tested. Silica, Ph level, Nitrates and phosphates were present in all of our 3 water samples. We decided to test these 3 different water sources because we wanted to know if in school grounds and outside the water we drank was clean and safe.
